About the Distance Fever Blog

This blog is a record of my explorations with distance learning technology. Gosh, does that sound like a boring sentence or what? So why all the fever about elearning? Well, I just got my Ph.D. totally online from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and as a a child of the very cool 70s I never dreamed it would happen quite that way. With three kids and living in rural Georgia, I don't suppose I would have ever gotten it at all if it weren't offered online. So yes, I'd say there's quite a passion - plus it's my career. And as a career, the best part is that the technology is always changing. I think I need a blog to keep up. Blah, blah blog.

Wow, that's really great that you were able to pursue your doctorate online. I basically earned my MA mostly online from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County with a couple of "blended" courses thrown in. I loved the convenience of online learning and believed I worked much harder at it! I am now considering pursuing a doctorate in instructional systems at Penn State (although it wouldn't be online).
